CONFERENCE SCOPE

The need to reduce the energy demand of buildings is reflected in the legislation and policies of many countries. Alhoewel het gebruik van asbest eind jaren 90 in België en andere Europese landen aan banden werd gelegd, blijft asbest ook nu nog alomtegenwoordig in onze omgeving, in oude gebouwen of installaties en op de werkplaats. Vooral bij werkzaamheden of bij incidenten kunnen belangrijke asbestblootstellingen optreden en zijn strikte maatregelen en controles vereist om dit te voorkomen.  Het aantal asbestslachtoffers op jaarbasis is immers nog steeds aanzienlijk en een daling van dat aantal wordt de komende jaren niet verwacht.
